How Honda Makes Money
->
I was not quite in a hurry when I noticed that my car engine not starting well yesterday. It was like something not right and very unusual. So I headed to the nearest and the only one Honda service center here in Kuantan. I was told by the clerk that it will cost me RM250 for a new battery. Fine, I nodded and grabbed a news paper cause it will take some time there.
Not long after that I heard the clerk was on the phone with someone and I realized that she was looking for a new battery and need it immediately. Minutes after that, a guy came over and handed her a new battery. That was fast and he must be from somewhere very near.
I went outside for a fresh air and that was the time the battery guy approached me and asked whether I want a maintenance-free battery or just a regular one. So I asked hime what will the price be for each of them. While giving a fast look at the clerk inside, he told me that pricing will be coming from Honda, not him. This guy explained that he’s not working for Honda and only supply the battery. He showed me the workshop he’s working with just few meters away.
“So how much you sell the battery?”
“Boss, normally it is RM165, but I can give you RM160.”
Damn!
I cancelled the job with Honda right away and made few meters move to that workshop and saved my money RM90.

Not only Honda maa. Others do too. Guess other than those essential parts which need to be genuine, and other specialised jobs..browse elsewhere for things like batteries and the rest.
