Everybody Loves Raymond
->
NO, it’s “Everybody Loves Mr Ponzi”.
I had time in the office today with some a senior and few co-workers. We have just done setting up the place for an event in next few days. It was the tea time.
“I saw a lot of people yesterday. A lot of rich-to-be persons.”, the senior said.
“Yeah? What was that?”.
“People went there for a talk on the DotDotDot program. You can get RM32K for a just 1 lot, about RM138.”, he replied.
I smelled that he was trying to look for referrals.
“What do you say?”, a female co worker asked me.
“If you ask me than I would say it’s just a lie.”, I tried to do some denials.
“It’s just RM138! In any days you just can spend the money on anything, but this one is for an opportunity of RM32K return.”, the senior kept going strong and ended with I-wish-to-risk-my-RM138-for-that conclusion.
That’s the point. Ponzi and get-rich-scheme will never end because we are the one who wants it. Some smart people even realize it as a ponzi but they will never surrender. It’s the money factor, it’s the basic need that we have. And I remember coming across somewhere when I read “you join, you’re risking the the money… you ignore, you are risking the reward”. I don’t see it in that way at all. To me, it’s more than a risk of loosing money or a risk of loosing the reward. It’s much more on humanity issues and how we value the other people around us.
Any ponzi schemes will come to an end when there is not enough money supply to pay older member’s commission. No payplan will survive this curse UNLESS on the other hand the products are so damn hot to ensure new purchases coming in.
Commission of RM10/pair in other words is saying that there will be RM5/head to be paid to the upliners in the same network. Given RM138/lot entry, RM15/sponsor, RM5/level - ring any bells? Assuming the company’s revenue portion is RM23/lot, there can be only 20 times of occurance when a single lot can last until finally it may not be able to provide anymore RM5 cash supply for the upliners. It’s not necessarily 20 level up, since a single lot can be left or right pair to the previous lot holders. Meaning to say, the same lot can be paired up multiple times in a bigger network. Each time the pairing occurs, RM5 will be slashed from the lot to pair the upliner, until in reality it just go negative quietly.
So, in order to fix this flaw, any company will come with a limit called flush, for example any single lot will only be able to generate return for the first 20 pairs only. Any further pairs will be flushed or ignored and unpaid. It is a good solution, but will appear to be temporary. The company may be able to prolong the money cycle a bit, but it won’t be there for long.
I will observe the following things on any programs;
1. Is there any products?
2. Are the products just worth the money?
3. Is it a binary plan with unlimited depth of pay plan? *Ding!
4. Is there a flush? *Ding!
5. Is it coming from Malaysia? *Ding!
6. Is it claiming to be internationall recognized but the majority of members are from Malaysia? *Ding!
7. Are the people talking about the product or about the referral commission structure?
8. Is it a money game look-alike?
9. Are there any real people? Even if there are, remember real people can always escape.
10. Are they claiming to have members from Mufti’s, Datuk’s, celebrities or high-ranked government officers? Watch out for the psycho influence.
This ponzi program is not the first, and won’t be the last. The spirit of ponzi will always be there as long as people are having oh-its-only-RM138-lets-just-risk-it attitude. Too good be true.
Where were all the previous ponzis gone? Who cares. The program runners had collected about RM1mil with only 50k people in the network. So why refrain from starting another program and earn another million again and again? As long as leaders are well-paid, they will sing the same song out loud. Who cares about the loosing ones?
