Cool be-nice template by Gigadesign
Thanks to Gigadesign ( http://www.gigadesign.be/be-nice/ ) for this cool template. On my first attempt, I downloaded it from http://themes.wordpress.net/ but being unsure about whats wrong since the sidebar portion seemed to be positioned at the bottom.
Following the link to Gigadesign, I downloaded it again, with clearly the same result. Then I noticed about the long URL in http://mightyhitter...nse-alternative.html that I have on the main page. Being very new to CSS things, I spent few hours looking for things to be fixed.
Thats where the idea of using a plugin came to my mind. I was thinking to have all URLs in my posts to be automatically shorten and clickable. A quick search at http://www.wp-plugins.net/ did not give me what I was looking for (maybe someone had written same plugin before, it just I did not found it), so I decided to write it myself.
I spent few minutes looking at the introduction to wordpress plugin at http://codex.wordpr...org/Writing_a_Plugin and started googling for any examples. Finally I found a great article by Owen Winkler ( http://asymptomatic...-wordpress-plugin/1/ ) .
So here it goes, a cool template and a first plugin:)
